Position: Senior Automation Tester

Key Responsibilities:
Root Cause Analysis and Defect Management:
Participate in thorough defect analysis sessions with developers and product teams. Go beyond surface-level bug reporting by contributing to root cause identification and recommending corrective actions that not only fix bugs but also prevent future regressions.
Lead Test Automation Strategy and Design:
Spearhead the architecture, design, and implementation of robust automated testing frameworks and infrastructure. Take ownership of automation tools and strategies, aligning them with software development methodologies and business goals. Ensure that the automation approach supports various types of testing including functional, regression, performance, and integration.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with product managers, developers, manual QA engineers, and other stakeholders to define automation objectives. Collaborate from the earliest phases of feature planning to understand the scope and define test coverage strategies that align with both technical and business requirements.
Development and Maintenance of Automation Suites:
Write, update, and maintain scalable, reliable, and efficient automated test scripts using industry-standard tools and programming languages. Ensure reusability and modularity of the scripts while maintaining compatibility with evolving product features and architecture.
Execution and Result Analysis:
Schedule and run automated test cases as part of the build and release processes. Analyze test outcomes to detect anomalies, bugs, and performance issues. Work closely with the development team to triage and resolve defects, while tracking test results to measure quality benchmarks over time.
Test Optimization and Innovation:
Proactively identify areas where test automation can enhance efficiency and reliability. Recommend and implement strategies that minimize manual effort, accelerate test cycles, and maximize code coverage. Assess and introduce new tools or techniques that can complement or replace existing testing solutions.
Mentorship and Knowledge Sharing:
Guide and mentor junior automation engineers and QA analysts. Provide training on tools, best practices, and the latest trends in automation. Conduct regular knowledge-sharing sessions to build a high-performing and knowledgeable QA team.
Code Quality and Standards:
Conduct peer reviews of test automation code to ensure compliance with coding standards, reusability, and maintainability. Promote best practices in test script design, version control, and documentation. Strive for a consistent and sustainable approach across the QA automation suite.
Continuous Integration & Deployment (CI/CD) Integration:
Collaborate with DevOps and development teams to integrate automated test cases into CI/CD pipelines, enabling early detection of code issues. Ensure automation scripts are stable and can be executed reliably in varied environments like development, staging, and production.
Research and Adoption of New Technologies:
Stay current with advancements in test automation, QA methodologies, and related technologies. Evaluate new frameworks, libraries, and tools that can enhance test effectiveness, speed, and maintainability. Provide recommendations for technology adoption based on business needs and project complexity.
