Automation QA and DevOps jobs in Bengaluru| Hybrid:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Automation QA and DevOps Engineer to join our dynamic team in Bangalore, India. This is a hybrid role, requiring you in-office presence two days per week. The ideal candidate will have between 6 (six) to 9 (nine) years of experience in automation testing, DevOps tools, and infrastructure automation. Candidates with a good background in FinTech, Telecom, or global development teams will be given preference.
This position is a blend of Automation QA engineering and DevOps automation responsibilities, and is ideal for someone with hands-on skills in Selenium, Java, Kubernetes, Linux, and networking. Key Responsibilities for Automation QA and DevOps
- Develop, maintain, and improve automated test frameworks for web-based applications, APIs, and back-end services.
- Work closely with developers and product teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to ensure software quality from the ground up.
- Write and execute automation scripts using Selenium, Java, and SOAPUI for end-to-end testing.
- Perform API testing, integration testing, and regression testing across microservices.
- Implement DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipeline integration and automation workflows using Kubernetes and Jenkins.
- Participate in code reviews and conduct static and dynamic code analysis to ensure security and compliance.
- Use JIRA or similar tools for test case management, defect tracking, and project collaboration.
- Document test cases, test plans, and test execution reports; ensure full test coverage of system features and user stories.
- Support and troubleshoot production environments, identifying and resolving issues as needed.
- Contribute to the improvement of QA and DevOps processes across the engineering team.
Required Skills for Automation QA and DevOps
- 5+ years of experience in Automation QA engineering with a strong focus on Selenium + Java
- Minimum 2 years of experience in DevOps tools and processes including Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD
- Proficiency in Linux-based systems, scripting (Bash or Python), and understanding of basic networking
- Experience working in complex systems or cloud-native environments
- Familiarity with testing tools like SOAPUI, Postman, or REST-assured for API automation
- Hands-on experience with test planning, test case development, and automation strategies
- Exposure to defect tracking and collaboration tools like JIRA, Rally, or Confluence
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and analytical skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field; certifications in QA or DevOps are a plus
Preferred Qualifications
- Background in FinTech or Telecom domains:
- Candidates with experience in financial technology (FinTech) or telecommunications industries are highly preferred. A solid understanding of domain-specific workflows, security standards, and compliance practices will be a strong asset. Prior exposure to real-time transaction systems, payment gateways, or telecom infrastructure is a bonus.
- Experience working in distributed global teams:
- We value professionals who have collaborated with geographically dispersed teams across different time zones. This includes participating in cross-functional stand-ups, working with international stakeholders, and contributing to products with a global user base. Excellent communication and documentation skills are essential.
- Knowledge of security automation tools and testing methodologies:
- Hands-on experience with security testing frameworks, vulnerability scanners, and static/dynamic code analysis tools is highly desirable. Familiarity with tools like SonarQube, OWASP ZAP, or Fortify will give you an edge in ensuring robust and secure applications.
- Experience with performance testing and load testing tools:
- Candidates should have practical knowledge of tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, or Gatling for conducting system performance analysis. You should be able to identify bottlenecks, simulate peak loads, and deliver optimization recommendations for high-performance applications.
- Familiarity with Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, and other version control and CI/CD tools:
- Strong understanding of modern development pipelines and version control systems is essential. You should be proficient in source control workflows, CI/CD concepts, and deployment automation using tools like Git, Bitbucket, Jenkins, or GitLab CI/CD.
- Certification in AWS, Azure, or cloud-related technologies is a strong advantage:
- Certifications such as AWS Certified DevOps Engineer, Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, or equivalent demonstrate your capability in cloud infrastructure and automation. These credentials significantly enhance your profile, especially in a cloud-native environment.
- Willingness to work in a hybrid work model:
- The role requires flexibility to operate in a hybrid model, which combines remote work with in-office attendance (2 days per week in our Bangalore office). Candidates must be comfortable balancing virtual collaboration with occasional face-to-face meetings and team interactions.
